C.E.B.U Year End LAN Party

Greetings,

In accordance to C.E.B.U. tradition, there will be a LAN Party this November 19, 2011 and its going to be:

-The last of the year
-The most expensive we will organize
-Our first LAN Party with an NBA 2K12 Tournament
-Probably the biggest we will organize!

Come and join us on our year-end LAN Party organized by Computer Enthusiasts and Builders United (C.E.B.U.)!

As agreed with our treasurer, we will spend a part of our funding for the event. We want to make this huge and memorable! Shirts will be given for the attendees of the event.

As I have also observed by the recent LAN Party, there seems to be a really huge interest in NBA 2K12 although I don't really play that game. For this, I will open up a small tournament for everyone to join! Prizes and details will be announced in a few days soon.

For the entrance fee, we will collect 200 300 pesos each and you get a free shirt. Things won't just end there, we may have bigger surprises to be unveiled soon!

Games to play:
1.) Battlefield 3!
2.) Half-Life (This time, we DINE IN SUBTRANSIT.BSP!)
3.) Quake 3: Arena!
4.) Team Fortress 2!
5.) Modern Warfare 2/3!

Location is in Oli's Grill, M. L. Quezon Avenue, Maguikay, Mandaue City! Map here: Wikimapia - Let's describe the whole world!

Begins at 12PM Noon, ends at 2AM the next day!

List of attendees here: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/...hl=en_US#gid=0

If you're looking forward to join the event, see the event update dated 11.5.2011.

Be a part of this final event of the year!

SPONSORS: FINE UPGRADES, OLI'S GRILL, CEBU APPLIANCE CENTER AND CARLOTECH

Clearing up a few misconceptions:
Misconception: I need to be a member to join this
Clarification: No! You don't need to be one.

Misconception: I need to bring my own rig to watch this one
Clarification: No! You do not need to bring a rig if you just want to watch us play or benchmark 1080p bangbustor!

[UPDATE 11.5.2011]Due to the overwhelming response of the event, here are a few changes that I need to add on the event.

-The entrance fee has been upped to 300 pesos. This is because of the unexpected high prices of the shirt printing.
-The number of attendees is unexpectedly plenty. Anybody who joins the event now are placed in the waiting list.
-In the waiting list, there is a chance that you will be given a seat or a table. This depends on how crowded the place will be and the spare tables and chairs.
-You can buy shirts but regular attendees who carry rigs with them are given priority. People in the waiting list is also in this priority.
-The price of the shirts is 300 pesos each if you are not bringing with you a rig.
-NBA 2K12 Tournament Rules and Guidelines is still on the process however, the prizes aren't that really big. 1000 for the first place, 500 for the second place and 300 for the third place. Single Elimination.

I'd like to take the opportunity to apologize on the problematic situations lately. Again, we did not expect such huge hit from people who are not regular LAN Party attendees. Rest assured that in the next big LAN Party like this, we will get a bigger location and probably cheaper shirts. I already foresee a huge LAN Party expo soon which we will plan carefully.

For people who are still looking forward to join the event, please list your names in the following list:

Code:

Waiting List:
1.)Kirk
2.)Thermaltake
3.)

For people who are looking forward to just buy shirts, please list your name in the following list:

People who just want shirts

2.)

I have created a spreadsheet which lists the attendees and their details. If you are an attendee, please check the link below and see if your details are correct. There are also a few things that need to be clarified from you.

USC-TC "X-Rigs" 2011

University of San Carlos - Technological Center and Datalogics Society Group (Department of Computer Science) are proud to present to you:

What is this:
It is a Computer showroom/expo showcasing different people's computer
set-up. These rigs ranges from the mid-end up to the high-end computers.
Modded Rigs will also be showcased.

Why do we need to showcase: In order to show the
people/non-enthusiasts how technology is improving with the help of high
computing preferences. Basically, we are speaking of desktop and mobile
PC's.

How do we do it: 3D games prove to be the best benchmarking
software for the locals when it comes to product comparison. We allow
the audience to have a feel/taste of how the games run at mid - ultra
high settings. By doing this, we can help them decide on what kind of PC
parts are suitable for their specific attributes.

What about LAN Games: Definitely we will be having LAN games (LAN
party) so that the user (audience) and his pal can enjoy the game and
talk about it after the event. Playing LAN games at your desired
settings will create the degree of reality and enjoyment of your gaming
time.

When will this event happen:FEBRUARY 4. (FINAL)

Who are qualified to join:
Anyone as long as you think your rig
rocks! Remember all we need is mid to high end. If you are unsure if you
are qualified just post your specs here and I will decide. Gaming
laptops and modded PC's are definitely qualified.

Size of Monitors: Maximum size is 100 inch while minimum size is 10 inch.

Location: University of San Carlos - Technological Center (Nasipit, Talamban) Bunzel Lobby (a.k.a Engineering Lobby)

Why start the thread so early:
Because the chosen date is a Friday not a weekend, starting this thread early gives you time to ask your boss for a leave.

HOW TO JOIN: Entry formswill be given to you thru e-mail or hot
links. Submit it to me on the scheduled meeting. No forms no entry. Jost

COMDDAP 2010 (Cebu Expo).. This is I.T. !!!

COMDDAP (Computer Manufacturers
Distributors and Dealers Association of the Philippines) is an
association of the country's top information technolgy
businesses. Its primary objective is to promote the
sustainable development of the of the country's information
technology industry through voluntary collaboration of its
member companies. It is the goal of COMDDAP to be able to
provide its members general views and updates from different
sectors - private and government, and highly regarded individuals
to further uplift the morale and knowledge of its
organization.

The vision of promoting and
elevating the standards of Information technology (IT) in
the Philippines fueled a group of prominent computer
companies to form the Computer Distributors and Dealers
Association of the Philippines or COMDDAP. Its initial
member-companies represent the world's leading makers and
providers of computer products, solutions and peripherals.

COMDDAP
counts among its achievements the holding of the Annual
COMDDAP exhibit, more popularly known as the COMDDAP EXPO,
which has become a consistent crowd drawer and has in
itself set new records in terms of the quality of exhibit
area, exhibitors, visitors, and venues. In fact, COMDDAP
EXPO in 1999 marked the first exhibit to have adapted an
upgraded booth shell schemes

The annual COMDDAP
endeavor encourages its participants to launch their
products and services, as well as hold seminars with a
variety of topics in the areas of technology, trends,
applications, and information management.

COMDDAP's biggest leap was being able to cross boarders or
go regional by bringing the exposition down south in Cebu
and Davao City, and to even greater heights in the cities
of Baguio and Naga, and most recently, in Iloilo City.
